    Hi Chris,

Thank you for the great idea!
I set MP to create the map and that works great for me. :0)

It uses the default marker but it can be changed at the post admin level at the map save.
If the post (custom) is updated via the update button the map icon goes back to default, no biggie.

I went through your instructions very carefully and I am learning a lot from you!
I did use your code for updating the themes function to display map icon by ‘term’ but doesn’t do anything (s0 far).

I went to WP site and found info of same code so I know it’s right, I guess it must be in my theme somewhere.
I also could not tweak the POI template at the theme (child) level so I just did that in the Mappress plugin folder which worked great.

I am using WP 3.9.1 (WPMU) with Catalyst theme and Dynamik child theme and Toolset ‘Types’ for custom posts, including ‘Views’ ‘Access’ and CRED the front end form editor. All working together with no serious issues.

Anyhow this is my story and hope it helps someone who may be trying to do the same.

I have utilized most WP google map plugins and Mappress is the best.

    Hi Chris,

Mappress is such a great plugin, thank you so much!

I am using Toolbox custom post types.
I created a type ‘business’ and check the checkbox, as above.
Mappress admin shows and operates perfectly.

CRED is Toolbox’s front end page maker that allows to create forms for entering and updating new custom types.
I have created a front end page to create and update businesses but there is no option to add Mappress to the (custom post type) page (as in WP admin area).

*Is there possibly a code to add Mappress (editor) to a page, or show on the page if there is one attached; if it is not in WP admin area?

    Hi Chris,

    Thanks for the help!

From here it looks like the new infowindow close button is all that is needed. the new window looks really great on a mobile device.

I am working on getting all of my sites ‘responsive’. Mappress (without new infowindow) works great nested within a <div at 100%. There is only 1 problem. On small media the old infowindow can’t be closed with the ‘x’ close button. On my droid (480 px) it seems like the close link area is too small to activate. Also there is, what seems to be a thin sliver of another image attached to the right of the ‘x’ button.

I hope this info helps you or someone in this forum.

More Info: I discovered the plugin CSS file has style for the infowindow and that works great but can’t figure a close button for the infowindow. The individual maps do show the marker window info. The mashups show the excerpt in the marker window but would like to show what is entered in the map. I tried using the marker_body option in the mashup query but did not work. (show_query=”post_type=page&marker_body=marker”)

Hi Chris, great idea for marker window. I upgraded to 2.38.7 and now have the marker editor. Two things I cannot figure out: The marker window always shows the original page excerpt, not the marker window info. If I set to use the infobox extends to screen width (page excerpt) and no way to close it. All maps and mashups have same result. As my site is active I keep the infowindow setting at google. http://bakerbirchbay.net/bakerbirchbay/

Thank you for your reply. I think I spent too much time reading and not enough time thinking! I found the custom icons folder in the site folder, within the blog.dir folder (multisite). Duhh. I also found the POI list .php in the plugin folder, which I was able to customize.

Really great, the BEST mapping plugin in my opinion. Will vote!

PS. I am using WP 3.4.1 Multi and verified that 2.38.5 is version loaded.

Hmm, after update to 2.38.5 there is no option link for custom icons.

I do not see a setting or info about using the /icons/ folder.

Any help on this would be really appreciated.

    Thank you!

Hello and thank you for this great plugin.

I have just installed MapPress Pro today 8/8/12. I have not installed the beta.

I have the marker title showing up as tooltip on a map ok but not in a mashup.

Do we not have toolttips in mashups?

Also, I would like to have a more elaborate tooltip showing some HTML. Is that possible?

    Thanks again!!!
