Hi,
Glad you figured it out. You’re actually overriding the theme style that interferes with the map (which is normally display:flex):
.entry-content .aligncenter {
display: block;
}I’ll add !important to the map selector to prevent this in other sites.
Hi,
There was an error in a recent release. Could you try again, please? I believe it’s fixed now, or at least I did see the map.
Hi,
I think I see the problem: most sites use a single KML layer, so by default the map centers on that layer when it’s loaded (which is usually what people want).
At the link you provided, the map centers and then one of the KML layers is loaded. The layer includes some small islands in the Bering Sea, which probably causes the map to zoom way out to include them.
On the other site, the KMLs may load faster, so the map centers *after* they load. But it’s hard to say without the URL.
Please use the contact form to send an admin login to the dev site, and I’ll try to implement a fix. I think the solution is probably to have the plugin ignore the KML bounds when a specific map center is set.
Hi
Thanks for reporting this! It should be fixed in 2.89 beta, which will be released Friday – enable beta downloads in your MapPress settings screen to get it. If you need the update sooner, please send a login using the contact form and I’ll be happy to install it for you.
Hi,
You can choose ‘open post’ instead of ‘open post in new tab’ in the Mashups section of the MapPress settings.
Hi,
This appears to be related to hovering with a KML present. I think it should be fixed in 2.88.14.
Hi,
This might be a question for the Rocket folks rather than me, but MapPress includes the WordPress React module and translation module (and those then include some other libraries). The complete list is: ‘wp-blocks’, ‘wp-components’, ‘wp-compose’, ‘wp-core-data’, ‘wp-element’, ‘wp-media-utils’, ‘wp-i18n’, ‘wp-notices’, ‘wp-url’.
If you look at the page source for script tags you can see the JS being loaded (just deactivate ALL other plugins for a moment first). Here’s what I saw when I tried it. You probably want to exclude at least ‘react.min.js’.

Should be fixed in 2.88.13, which I’ve just published.
November 5, 2023 at 6:58 pm in reply to: Issue and Potential Fix Regarding Property Access in Mappress_Poi Class #20537Hi,
I’m sorry I didn’t respond sooner. The warning notice doesn’t appear on my test sites. How are you generating the maps? Are you using PHP, or a shortcode, or a block?
In any case, this should be fixed in 2.88.9, which should accept both arrays and objects.
Hi,
Nothing will happen to your maps if you switch APIs, with two exceptions:
1. If you edit a map with drawing shapes in Leaflet and save it, the shapes may not save correctly.
2. If you’re using custom styling you’ll need to convert it from Google to MapboxIt’s not supported to have a different API for just one map. Google is generally best, but if you have higher traffic you can use Leaflet + Mapbox. Mapbox works well and has a higher free usage tier.
Hi Morten,
I can’t imagine what WPtouch is doing that MapPress could possibly interfere. Have you tried contacting them?
I don’t have that plugin to test with, but if you’d like to email me, perhaps we can find a way to share your copy or I can try to debug it on your system. However, since I’m not familiar with their code I’m not sure it will be helpful.
Hi John,
I see the sort option is set to “true”, which isn’t valid. Please go to the MapPress settings page, set the sort to “title” and save.
If that doesn’t help, please send a login. Both sorting methods work on my test site, so I’ll need to trace it to see why yours is different.
Thanks!
Hi,
I responded to you via email. But for anyone else who is looking for this: URL parameters have been added to MapPress Pro version 2.87.6. Enjoy!
Hi,
I’ve gone ahead and published the update as 2.87.5. Please let me know how it works for you.
Hi John,
Looks like a bug, introduced with distance sorting in a recent released. I think it’s fixed. Could you send a login so I can test the new version for you?
If you prefer to use the query parameters, the syntax is:
[mashup query="post_type=page&orderby=title&order=asc"] -
