Hi Joe,
Could you reach out to me via email or the contact form? I’d like to get a temporary admin login so I can install the latest version, and I’ll provide the edited KML in case it’s helpful.
The plugin should display the right colors in Leaflet – but only if the KML is valid. As I mentioned before, Google Earth KMLs don’t always seem to work, so you might need to use a different tool to create the KMLs.
Hi,
I looked more closely at the KML file on your site and I think it won’t display the right color line in Google Maps either. I’m not a KML expert, but I think there’s some incompatibility between Google Earth projects exported as KML and the Google Maps API. It’s something to do with the StyleMap tag. Google has several issues for this in their bug tracker. For example:
https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/35816676If you’d like to email me directly, I’ll respond with a “corrected” version of the file that displays as a red line.
Also, I’ve updated MapPress to make the Omnivore plugin display the correct line colors when using Leaflet. If you’d like to try the new version please let me know.
Hi Joe,
The Omnivore KML plugin for Leaflet is used to display KMLs when using Leaflet (and Mapbox), and it only displays blue lines. If you want to change the color of all lines (and not per-line), I’ll see if I can find a workaround for you, but it’ll take some code as it’s not supported by default.
You also have the option of using Google, which does support line colors.
Hi Jay,
Did you check the MapPress settings page? There’s a setting for whether or not to include KMLs in mashups, and a separate one for whether they should appear in the POI list.
Those settings are global, so they may be affecting your map.
Hi Erik,
Nothing changed on the site, but I suspect there’s a conflict between PayPal and the new React version in the latest WordPress.
Here’s what worked for me:
1) Clear you browser cache, then try again
2) If #1 doesn’t work: login to PayPal first, then go to my site.Sorry for the inconvenience.
August 11, 2024 at 10:50 pm in reply to: Automatically apply a map filter using a URL or Query String #21020Hi,
You should be able to do this for mashups using the [mashup] shortcode. There are some examples in the plugin documentation. You can use variables in the mashup query to indicate WordPress query variables, such as categories.
Thanks, the docs are actually correct – but they’re for mashup custom fields, not the POI data fields. The POI fields are new, and I haven’t had a chance to document them at all yet, but I will – please bear with me 🙂
Hi,
In the template you have specified a custom field from the post {{{poi.props.kerkurl}}}. Please specify a data field instead: {{{poi.data.kerkurl}}}.
I think this may be because there was a bug: the button “POI data field” was suggesting “poi.props.myfield” instead of “poi.data.myfield”, so thank you for bringing this to my attention. The bug is fixed in version 2.91.6, which will be available soon.
Hi,
Thanks for reporting this, it should be fixed (current version is 2.91.3).
Hi,
There’s no way for me to guess what’s happening without a URL where I can it in action. If you’d like you can post a URL here or send one via the contact form. Since your question involves the back-end settings, if you can provide a administrator login that will be a big help.
If you can provide step-by-step instructions about how you’re setting up the default icon, that would also be helpful.
Hi,
I see the POI titles are missing, for me they’re missing in both desktop and mobile modes. It looks like the
element ‘title’ attribute is being replaced with ‘aria-label’. I don’t know why that’s happening. Can you demonstrate this problem on a staging site? Please try with all other plugins disabled and a standard theme (like twenty twenty-two). If the map displays OK with everything disabled, re-enabled one by one to find the conflict.
Hi,
Distance is calculated straight-line. It’s intended only for giving a rough idea of distance from center point, like some store locators, not for accurately displaying driving/biking/walking distance.
If that doesn’t suit your needs, you may disable it.
Hi,
You can choose whether to include KMLs in the settings, but once included they’ll appear in the map and in the POI list.
Would it work for you to just exclude KMLs from the list? If so, I’ll see if I can include that as a setting.
Hi,
I don’t know enough about pods, or the site, to tell you why you see the map at the top. I see that you’ve set the flag properly to display on the bottom, which should cause the map to append to the post content. Perhaps you can arrange that section at the bottom in pods?
If not, the shortcode to show the map(s) attached to the current post is relatively simple:
[mappress]Hi,
I’m not sure I understand, but if you’re automatically displaying maps attached to the post, that’s an option in the MapPress settings. You can choose top or bottom there.
You can also place a map shortcode or Gutenberg block wherever it suits you.
If the maps aren’t working, please send a URL (or better yet, a login), since there’s no way I can answer without seeing it.
