Hi,
The plugin updated automatically, so that’s probably the change. However – and I’m not sure how it happened – the site seems to have the Pro version, but it’s using a non-Pro javascript file. Is there any caching software running on the site?
I’d like to help you fix the problem. Could you please use the contact form to send me an email with a login to the site? I want to look at the plugin updater to see if it’s a problem there.
I’m not sure what you want fixed?
You can use center=”lat, lng”, center=”address” or center=”place”. To center on a metro station, use a street address or lat, lng.
Hi,
The centering was a bug that seems to occur only when using google, and a mashup, and specifying the center. It should be fixed in 2.50.10.
Also:
– for the center parameter you can use lat,lng or a place or address, e.g. center=”New York”
– if using Google, you can specify a country, e.g. “USA”
– Leaflet can’t geocode countries, so to center on a country using Leaflet, use lat,lng and a zoom instead
Hi,
I’m not sure if this is the problem, but the syntax changed slightly many versions ago. Center is now specified as “lat, lng”, for example:
[mashup center="50, 14"]
November 1, 2018 at 8:04 am in reply to: Maps in MapPress 2.42.1 appear to not be working in 2.50.8 #18047Hi Keith,
Per your email to me, I think the problem was some custom theme code that stripped out the version info from scripts, causing old (cached) scripts to be loaded by the browser.
Please let me know if that’s not the case, otherwise I’ll assume this is resolved.
Hi,
Sorry, but no, that’s not yet possible.
I will look into separating the geocoding from the map display for a future release, since Google still has the best geocoding available.
Hi,
You need to enter not only the token, but also your style name & URL (lower down in the ‘styled maps’ settings section).
If that’s not the problem, could you please email some screenshots showing your token & the styled maps settings?
Hi,
Sorry, but I haven’t had that request before. It’s currently hard-coded as an either/or (only one of the two titles is sent to the map).
However – if you know PHP – you could use the filter ‘mappress_query_filter’ to adjust the map data sent to the mashup.
If you’d like to try that route, please let me know (or have a look at file ‘mappress_query.php’ where you can see both the filter call and the title selection).
Hi,
There’s a separate setting for this, ‘POI Content’ in the ‘Mashups’ section.
There you can select what to show when a POI is clicked: the POI title & body or the Post title & excerpt.
Hi,
I’m sorry, but there’s no way for me to know what Algolia’s algorithm might be.
You’ll need to contact their tech support to ask. They do seem to respond to queries, and I can see what you mean – openstreetmaps.org (on which Algolia is based) doesn’t return ‘Caboolture’ in the name, although the resulting location seems to be the same.Hi,
MapPress uses Algolia if you’re using the Leaflet engine, and Google geocoding if you’re using Google.
So, the easy asnwer is to switch to Google and use their geocoding.
Both services provide a way for you to report errors, and I think they’re botth pretty good about correcting them.
With that said, I’m confused about where the problem lies. When I type ‘Kallangur’ (by itself) into both Google Maps and Leaflet, they come up with a marker in almost exactly the same place (near the intersection of Anzac Ave and Old Gympie Road).
I also got the same location on openstreetmaps (on which Algolia is based), and geonames returns (-27.25204, 152.99226) which is the same.
September 5, 2018 at 5:02 am in reply to: OSM – add area zone (draw radius and more) like Google Maps #17972Hi,
This will be implemented, but I don’t have an ETA yet – I have a few other items ahead of it. Until then, you would need to use the Google drawing tools.
Hi,
I’ve added a define for the Mapbox token. You can do it like this:
DEFINE(‘MAPPRESS_APIKEY_MAPBOX’, ‘yourtokenhere’);If you’d like to help test this, please use the contact form to contact me. Otherwise, it’ll be available in the next release.
Hi,
Sorry, but no, there’s no define available for the Mapbox token yet. I’ll look into adding it for a future version.
Just enter the Mapbox access token in the MapPress settings to use Mapbox. There are some details in the documentation.
