      Hi!
I use Mappress Pro and I create maps.
I cannot find where to translate the string “get directions” which is set automatically in the popup on a map?

      Example:

      the map:

        Hi,

MapPress supports standard WordPress translation techniques, but they’re not always easy:

This used to work, but I’m not sure it’s still supported: https://mappresspro.com/translating-mappress/

More recently, WordPress now wants translators to provide a complete translation. Here’s a tutorial:
        https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-translate-a-wordpress-plugin-in-your-language/

Finally, there are various translation plugins which may work for you, and they can make this easier (especially for just one string).

          I found it:
The text “get directions” sits in the file  “mappress-google-maps-for-wordpress.pot/mappress-google-maps-for-wordpress.pot”

and the language – specific files are not synchron with the .pot – file!

it seems to me that the language specific files are for the free version and the .pot file is for the pro-version

So I have to synchronize the actual .po-file with the .pot-file and then translate the file and then take care that these files are not overwritten by the next update

          it’s not a happy situation

            Hi Chris,

I use PoEdit for many years now, the string “Get Directions” is not included in the mappress-language files

There must be another source… I will try to find

            Cheers, Connie

The language files can be synced to the POT, but will be overwritten on upgrade. I think this is why WordPress went to the translate.wordpress.org site.

Note that translations now include both PHP and Javascript files.

It is an over-complicated mess, but not something I can control in the plugin.
