Hi there – I just upgraded from 2.40.7 to 2.42.1 and I’m getting a strange error in the Javascript console (and maps aren’t loading). It throws:

    jquery.js?ver=1.11.1:4 POST http://chrisrae.staging.wpengine.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php 500 (Internal Server Error)

You can see this yourself at http://chrisrae.staging.wpengine.com/sc.

Is it possible there’s some sort of conflict with this version of jquery?

    Wes

    Hi,

I don’t think it’s jQuery, and MapPress is compatible with WP 4.1. Could this be the same problem you had back in May?

The error means the server crashed. Usually that’s because of a syntax error in a PHP file.

If you check your PHP error log, it will show you exactly where the error occurred. Or, to rule out another plugin or a conflict: deactivate all other plugins and switch to a standard theme (like 2014) for a moment and see if the error persists.

Hi there – sorry, forgot about the May post. It might well be the same thing. That’s a good point about debug.log, apologies for not looking there. What I see there is:

[22-Dec-2014 19:26:26] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method Mappress_Poi::get_custom() in /nas/wp/www/staging/chrisrae/wp-content/themes/kingtides/map_poi.php on line 8

It looks like that should help quite a bit!

    Hi,

Great, I’m glad you found it. It should be an easy fix: you can use get_post_meta instead – there’s an example here:
