    Hi Everyone,

Chris has very kindly put in the functionality for getting the POI list into columns

(in case you missed it … this is what Chris said:

    …………………………………………………….

There were many different requests for formatting the POI list, so I ended up implement ‘template’ files.  They’re available in 2.38.5 and higher:

You can copy the file map_poi_list.php to your templates directory and make whatever changes are needed.

    ………………………………………………………..

I’ve had a look at the map_poi_list.php file and when I think about how to get a single php call to populate left to right …new row.. left to right …new row… left to right etc … all I get is a  Tumble Weed going left to right and the sound of a saloon door swinging in the wind … then head hits keyboard..dfsim s”£@kunh &s dty8&YSd 87h
So … was wondering if anyone has:
    1. cracked how to put the php results into two columns, and

    2. is willing to share it on this forum.

I suspect I won’t be the only one with the questions.

Many thanks to that ‘anyone’ who can help.

    Cheers,

    Nick

    Hi Nick,

I hope someone has an answer.  I looked at this a few times but I didn’t see any general solution – it seems to be one of those things that should be easy, but isn’t.

Here’s a blog post about various approaches:

If you know in advance how many items you’ll have, and how many columns, then you can use a little PHP and hardcode the output in an HTML table – for example for 3 columns with 5 items per columns you can print item 1, 6, 11 across the first row, 2, 7, 12 across the second and so on.
