Is it possible to make the icon bounce (or move in some way) when you mouse over the name of the POI in the POI list? See this: http://birdtrailtest.wpengine.com/trails/appalachian-highlands/

In other words, moving your mouse over the list on the left allows you to see which pin the name references without having to click it–but doesn’t display the same info as when you click the list name.

Hi, I’m sorry but this isn’t currently possible – I’ve been wanting to do it for a long time, but I have some other development to complete first. I was thinking of doing a highlight around the selected marker, or a special marker to indicate the selection, rather than a tooltip.

Thanks Chris. Would be awesome, but totally understand. As always, what a great plugin!

    Hello Chris!

Man, your plugin is awesome. Totally worth the price (and then some).

I’m also curious about allowing each POI map marker have some kind of response when hovering over the associated POI in the POI list. Kinda like they’re doing here: https://www.northalabama.org/places-to-visit/trails/agriculture-adventure-trail/

I see the forums and I know how many people are asking you for stuff all the time. So, I feel bad even asking but I’m trying to remember that it ‘never hurts to ask.’

Even if this functionality isn’t ready for an official release is there, like, a hacky way I can accomplish it?

    Thank you!

    Hi Ben,

No problem, thanks for asking.  There are two MapPress settings for this:

1- ‘hover’ in the ‘POIs’ section opens the popup when a POI is hovered

2- ‘highlight selected POI’ in the ‘Icons’ section applies one of 3 different effects to apply when a POI is hovered

There was a bug preventing #2 from working if #1 wasn’t set, so I’m glad you followed up.  It should be fixed in 2.84.10.
