ParticipantHi Chris,
I’m trying to edit the name of the POI that shows up on my individual map from the address of the Latitude/Longitude coordinates to the title of the Map. I don’t see a way to edit the title, or an actual edit button when I click on/hover over my map in WP edit mode.
It ironically works fine in the Mashup, but not the individual listing. Urls below:
The title on the green icon here: http://www.rowhouseco.com/grantmassie/90-9-chesterfield/ should match the title of the green icon here: http://www.rowhouseco.com/grantmassie/google/
thank you!

ParticipantAnd sorry, a couple more details. I’m using version 2.38.7 and also have a KML location on the same maps.

KeymasterHi, sorry for my slow reply, I was working on the a new version.
If I understand you want the POI to show the title it was saved with, rather than the title of the matching post (http://www.rowhouseco.com/grantmassie/90-9-chesterfield/).
If that’s correct, please install the new version (2.38.8) and check the settings screen. There is now an option to control whether the POI title and POI body are taken from the POI or from the underlying post.
I hope that helps, but let me know if not.

ParticipantSo for example, that listing’s marker title is “1700-1898 Meadowville Rd” which is the address if the Latitude/Longitude number I entered.
I want it to say “Residential Development” which is what its title is.

KeymasterHi,
The settings only control how the marker appears in mashups, i.e. on this page:
http://www.rowhouseco.com/grantmassie/google/
But the POI always has its own title. To change it, you can edit the POI in the map editor (in the WP post editor).

ParticipantSo, how do I do this exactly? It doesn’t let me change the title of the marker itself there. Its extra not ideal because the address given isn’t even one that is relevant since the client supplied lat/long and its land area, not address driven. Seems like there must be a way…is there something in the code that I can modify?

ParticipantOk, I figured it out! Would be nice to be able to choose this option in the regular listing in the future, but I’m good. Thanks!
On a side note, can the marker icon be changed in this update?

KeymasterHi,
I’m not sure I understood, but you can still change the POI icon by clicking on it when you’re editing the POI (in the map editor). You can also set a default icon in the settings screen, and there’s a PHP filter available to set it based on some other criteria.

ParticipantYeah, the area next to icons is just blank in the settings. I’m ok with what I have, was just going to play around with it, but wonder if its a glitch in the update, or with my system?

KeymasterHi, sounds like a bug. Why don’t you send a login and I’ll take a look.

ParticipantHi, I sent my login info, and am now having another issue.
Trying to add a new map with kml and I can’t see where to save the location. Even tried an address just to see and couldn’t save that either. Going live tonight so I hope this is simple!

KeymasterHi,
Just to close this out from our email exchange:
The missing icon on the settings screen was a bug, it’ll be fixed in 2.38.9, which I hope to release tonight. It’s already fixed in your system.
The other issues were just about how to use the buttons in the updated editor.
Good luck with your go-live!
