      Per your documentation I’ve uploaded both files to wp-content/uploads/mappress/icons/

      The map icon was number_2.png the other number_2.shadow.png

      The map icon displays when assigned to a poi, but no shadow is displayed on the map when viewed, what am I missing?

        Hi,

        This is a bug, thanks for reporting it.  The plugin isn’t saving the shadow when it checks the icon directory.  I’ll release a new version to fix it ASAP.

          Chris did something change since 2.40.4 that would mess up the shadows again? I verified my images are still in the file mentioned in the post from April 2013 above. I noticed though that the shadows were not there prior to upgrading to 2.41.0. Any thoughts? I’m running WP 3.8.1

            Hi,

            Yes, there has been a change but it’s not MapPress. Google has decided to remove shadows from the Maps API as part of their new visual design.

            If you look at the new Google Maps, for example, the shadows are gone there as well.
