Hi,
I’m trying to change the way the mashup maps look and am having trouble, even after reading the documentation and with the forum. Here’s an example:
https://eastbaywalls.com/berkeley/
My main goal is to have the thumbnail display, preferably in lieu of any text at all. Once I can get it to display, I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to figure out hiding the text via the settings or with CSS. However, I can’t get the thumbnail to display, either via settings or via using the {{{poi.thumbnail}}} which I saw worked for someone else. Nor can I find how to do this in the documentation. I have the settings set to displaying the thumbnails.
Any help is appreciated!

July 15, 2022 at 6:35 am #19579Hi,
Normally just using the settings in the ‘thumbnails’ section will make thumbnails appear for the (single) featured image attached to each post.
The ‘{{{poi.thumbnail}}}’ token is no longer used.
Are you using standard WordPress thumbnails? Or are thumbnails controlled by the theme or a plugin?
July 16, 2022 at 5:59 am #19580Thanks for getting back to me.
I’m not really sure how the thumbnails are being generated- I have a theme, but I’m also using the single, featured image attached to each post. I’m using the Ocean theme.
July 16, 2022 at 6:06 am #19581I haven’t been able to replicate the problem. But if you’d like to send a login I’ll see if I can trace it in your system (or a staging system with the same problem). You can contact me here.
You can also check for theme/plugin conflicts:
1. Deactivate ALL other plugins and switch to the standard “twenty twenty” theme.
2. Create a test post with a thumbnail
3. Check if the new thumbnail is displayed on the mashupJuly 16, 2022 at 9:12 am #19582Thanks- I just tried in troubleshooting mode and I still don’t see a thumbnail. It seems like the plugin isn’t finding the thumbnails in the db? I know they’re there- you can see them all over the site. https://eastbaywalls.com/
I’ll set up an account for you and send that in a couple minutes.
July 16, 2022 at 9:16 am #19583Hi,
I replied to you via email, but in case you’re looking here:
The setting “popup content” (in the MapPress settings) is set to show data from POIs.
When that setting is set to “POI title + body + images”, all the info comes from the POI itself – title, body and images. If you want to use the POIs this way, you can add the image to the POI itself in the map editor.
If you want to instead use the underlying post, just change the setting to “Post title + excerpt + featured image”. This will pick up the featured image from the post.
