WordPress Map Search

Let visitors search your map by address, city or ZIP code. The map moves to the place they choose and shows what’s nearby, within a radius you set.

Try it: type “San Jose” or “93940” in the search box.

How it works

  • Address autocomplete. Suggestions appear as visitors type.
  • Search radius. Set how far around the searched place the map shows, in miles or kilometers.
  • Nearest first. Optionally sort the location list by distance from the search.
  • Limit results to your area. Restrict searches to one country or a bounding box.
  • Search from a link. Set a URL parameter so a link can open the map already searched.
  • Your own placeholder text. Replace “Search” with your own prompt.
  • Single maps or mashups. Add search to any map, or to a map of locations from many posts.

Add it to your site

  1. In MapPress › Settings › Search, turn on search for maps or mashups and set the radius.
  2. Or add search to one map with the shortcode below.
[mashup query="post_type=location" search="true" units="imperial" radius="25"]
