Hi Chris. Sorry to report that Version 2.88.3 has brought this issue back.
Using [mashup query="post_type=page&orderby=title&order=asc"] as prescribed above does not solve the problem.
It now ignores the numbers which precede the artist’s names and sorts the poi’s alphabetically.
